Service Description

Jeff Phares started carving as a hobby in 1984. At that time he was employed as a lab assistant making animal vaccines. He was primarily self taught until 1991 when he met John Burke, who pushed him to his potential in carving. In 1991 he took up carving full time, and it has been quite the journey since then. After winning several prestigious awards, he began teaching full time. He currently has 5 books published and has worked in clay, bronze, and some stone. He currently resides in California and Illinois and continues to work carving, sculpting and teaching. Cost of the 3-day class - 365$/ person plus a percentage of travel to be determined by cost of travel divided by the number of registered students. Be prepared to pay Jeff on your arrival for your part of his expenses to be determined when the class starts. Blanks are extra. Students may carve any subject they want as long as it is human. Mallet tools are preferable. **LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS - July 15th, 2025** Cost of the class - $365 per student + percentage of travel costs Blanks provided by Jeff at an additional cost or bring your own Minimum number of students - 7 Maximum number of students - 10 ::PAYMENTS:: - Credit-cards: Paying via credit-card will require an additional fee of 2.9% of the transaction amount + .30c per transaction. When choosing credit-card payment type for the class registration fee of $365, you will need to pay $375.86 instead. Manual Payment: Alternatively, if you would like to avoid paying the processing fees, please simply mail your check for the class fee of $365 to Joe Holt to reserve your spot in class. Your spot will not be confirmed until your class fee has been received.
